Friends & the Threads of Time

Who would you like to talk to soon?

🤔 … There’s something deeply moving about the friends who drift in and out of our lives, leaving invisible threads that never quite break even when months or years pass without contact. I find myself thinking about some of those conversations I’d love to have… with high school friends who knew all my dreams before life reshaped them, childhood friends who remember the version of me that existed before responsibilities took hold, and even acquaintances from past jobs who shared inside jokes that still make me smile. Each of these people holds a piece of my story, a fragment of who I was at different moments, and reconnecting would feel like gathering scattered pages of my own history back together.
The beauty of reaching out to old friends lies not just in nostalgia, but in the surprising ways we’ve both changed and remained exactly the same. I imagine sitting down with someone I haven’t spoken to in decades and discovering how our core selves have endured while our circumstances transformed completely. There’s a unique comfort in being known by someone who knew you before you became who you are now … they can see both versions and appreciate the journey between them. Whether it’s been three months or forty years, these conversations have the power to remind us that the connections we make throughout life create an invisible network of people who genuinely care about our wellbeing, even from a distance. 😁😁😁
