How do you practice self-care?

My Evening Self-Care Checklist:
□ Energy Check: Am I absorbing too much? Time to step back?
□ Boundary Scan: Have I said “no” to anything I don’t actually want to do today?
□ Sleep Schedule: Did I honor my bedtime and wake-up times?
□ Creative Fire: Am I installing dampers to please others, or letting it burn freely?
□ Quiet Time: Have I had uninterrupted time with just my thoughts and coffee?
□ The Wall Test: Do I need to get quieter and more distant right now?
□ Inspiration Hunt: What has sparked an idea or made me want to write today?
□ Disappearing Act: Is it time to leave the party quietly for a while?
□ Authentic Check: Am I living the way that actually works for me, or performing for others?
□ Future Vision: Did I do something today that moves me closer to the woods?
□ Blog Wandering: Have I had my aimless creative exploration time?
□ Routine Protection: Am I defending my monotonous, drama-free schedule?
□ Overwhelm Warning: Am I getting that heavy, sad feeling that means I need to unplug?
□ Social Battery: How many people interactions can I handle today before I’m drained?
□ Writing Without Filters: Have I created something real today, not watered-down?
□ Connection Time: Have I connected with the one person who gets my weirdness?
□ Retirement Planning: Did I do anything that moves me toward retirement?
□ Rubber Band Collection: Have I mysteriously acquired any today? (The universe provides)
□ Grotesque Comedy: Did I find humor in something disgusting today?
□ Memory Check: Am I honoring both what I remember and what I’ve forgotten?
Remember: Self-care isn’t about doing more – it’s about protecting what matters and saying no to what doesn’t. If most boxes are unchecked, that might actually be perfect for you.
