Russellville Alabama

What do you love about where you live?

I live in Russellville, Alabama. Population 10,855. It’s a small town in Franklin County that grew up around an old military road Andrew Jackson built after the War of 1812. We’re tucked into the foothills of the Appalachians – small mountains, canyons, creeks everywhere, caves and natural bridges you can walk to. We have an annual Watermelon Festival, a restored Roxy Theatre, and not much traffic. Everything is close, the commute is short, and there’s a growing Latino community that’s brought some really good international food downtown. It’s the kind of place where you can walk to the corner store in your pajamas and nobody cares, or hike a mountain trail before lunch. It’s not impressive, but it’s real. Sometimes that’s enough.
