Seriously??

Describe your dream chocolate bar.

😂 What???? That’s such a specific prompt! I’m sitting here staring at this like “seriously, a chocolate bar?”
🤔 … I could totally subvert it though,  maybe describe my dream “chocolate bar” as like… a granola bar I eat during my 2am coffee sessions, or make it about something completely different that brings me the same kind of satisfaction that other people get from fancy chocolate.
😲 … Or I could just be brutally honest: “My dream chocolate bar is… honestly, I don’t really have one. I’m not that into gourmet chocolate, so this is probably going to be the shortest blog post ever. Give me a prompt about coffee at 2am or problematic ancestors and we’ll talk.”
😆😂🤣
🤔 …Sometimes the best response to a prompt that doesn’t fit me is to acknowledge that it doesn’t fit me. My readers probably know me well enough by now that they’d find my “this prompt is weird for me” response more authentic than trying to fake enthusiasm about artisanal chocolate.
😶 What’s my instinct here?  ignore it? subvert it? or just call it out for being oddly specific? I think I’m leaning toward the honest approach. Why pretend to care about something I don’t when chocolate isn’t all that interesting?
