🎬 “Tweaker Energy” — A.W. Carter Releases New Music Video

Sometimes one little project turns into ten. And sometimes Granny ends up dancing in the garage at 3 AM.

A new music video has arrived for “Tweaker Energy” by A.W. Carter, from Buzzard Dust: Copper, written by Emmitt Owens.

The song is a fast-moving country comedy about that particular kind of restless energy that hits when sleep isn’t happening and suddenly everything needs to be fixed, reorganized, rebuilt, or completely taken apart.

“Reorganized the garage at 3 AM,
Alphabetized my tools, then did it again.”

And for the video, I decided that energy needed a character.

Meet Granny.

Granny isn’t your ordinary grandmother.

She’s up before sunrise, fueled by coffee and moonshine, crazy ideas, and an unstoppable need to start another project.

She reorganizes the garage.

She takes apart appliances.

She builds shelves she doesn’t need.

She moves the couch outside.

She talks to strangers at the gas pump.

She dances like she’s got 10,000 volts running through her.

And by sunrise?

She’s exhausted.

She looks around at the destruction she’s created and has one simple thought:

“Worth it? Absolutely not.”

Then she decides she’s doing it all again tomorrow.

A Vintage Look for a Modern Song

The entire music video was created around a black-and-white, mid-century rural comedy aesthetic, inspired by the look and feel of classic American television without using footage from existing television shows.

That was important to me.

Rather than borrowing clips from The Beverly Hillbillies, I wanted to create an original Granny character who could live inside the Buzzard Dust world.

The result is a deliberately old-fashioned visual style: vintage photography, rural Americana, exaggerated physical comedy, old tools, country gas stations, farmhouse porches, rocking chairs, and a whole lot of chaos.

The video runs alongside the song as one long ridiculous night in Granny’s life.

And honestly?

She may have more energy than the rest of us combined.
